Meet Austin

Hi, I’m Austin, the person behind The Buena Vista Petsitter. I help pets feel safe, happy, and loved while their humans are away. I moved to beautiful Buena Vista in October 2025 after spending more than six years traveling the world as a full-time pet sitter and digital nomad. In that time, I’ve cared for over one hundred dogs and cats, from tiny kittens to towering Great Danes, and I’ve loved every minute of it.

My love for animals started early. I grew up around large dogs and rescued my own gentle giant, Tinkerbell, a 135-pound American Mastiff, right out of college. She lived a long, happy life and taught me patience, loyalty, and unconditional love. After she passed, friends and family turned to me as their trusted pet sitter, and in 2019, I made it my full-time lifestyle.

I also work as a self-employed website designer, developer, and IT consultant with more than 15 years of experience. Working remotely gives me the freedom to focus on giving pets the care and attention they deserve.

When I’m not walking dogs or caring for pets, you’ll find me exploring the trails around Buena Vista, snowshoeing in the winter, cooking, reading, playing guitar, learning Spanish, or watching movies. I’m always up for a good conversation about travel, entrepreneurship, or technology.

As a pet and home sitter, I am meticulous, reliable, and genuinely caring. I treat every home and animal as if they were my own. My goal is to make sure your pets feel safe, happy, and loved while you’re away, so you can travel with complete peace of mind.
